Q. What happens if I have a toothache at the weekend?

A. Emergency Dental Care for registered patients outside working hours

Denplan patients have received a letter outlining their emergency care out of hours. Only Denplan patients can avail of this service.

The following information explains out of hours emergency dental care for NHS patients;

While we are closed emergency cover for NHS patients will be provided by the Relief of Dental Pain Clinic At Belfast City Hospital. The clinic is located in the Out Patients Department. Sessions begin at 10am, 2.30pm and 7pm on weekends and Bank Holidays, and at 7pm on weekdays. We advise you arrive at least 30 minutes before these times as a limited number of patients will be seen in each session. Only severe pain, swelling, trauma or excessive bleeding will be treated at these sessions.

This information is also summarised on our answer machine message when the practice is closed.
